How does the story of Joseph relate to our faith in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Joseph's story foreshadows Christ as the one who redeems and reconciles His people.

Joseph's journey from betrayal to governance in Egypt serves as a type of Christ in the Old Testament. Just as Joseph experienced suffering and rejection, yet ultimately provided salvation for his family, Jesus Christ endured suffering for our sins and now lives to intercede for us. In Hebrews 2:11, it emphasizes that Jesus is not ashamed to call believers His brothers, illustrating the deep familial bond between Christ and His followers. As Joseph's brothers came to realize their need for him, so too we recognize our dependence on Christ for redemption and reconciliation with God.
