How should we respond to suffering for Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should embrace suffering as part of their faith journey, viewing it as a means to grow closer to Christ.

Suffering for Christ is a theme woven throughout the New Testament and is a testament to a believer's identification with Jesus. The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 1:29 that it has been granted to believers not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for His sake. Accepting this perspective is essential for spiritual maturity. Just as Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin (Hebrews 11:25), Christians are called to find value and purpose in their sufferings. This response not only helps us to grow in faith and character but also enables us to witness to the hope we possess in Christ, even amid trials. The reproach of Christ should be esteemed as a greater treasure than any material wealth, reinforcing our commitment to live for Him.
