What does it mean that Christ is our mediator?

Answered in 17 sources

Christ as our mediator signifies that He bridges the gap between God and mankind, facilitating our reconciliation with God.

Jesus being our mediator emphasizes His unique role in reconciling us to God. As stated in 1 Timothy 2:5, there is one God and one mediator between God and men, which is Christ Jesus. His incarnation allowed Him to represent humanity, while His divine nature assures that He is fully capable of fulfilling God's justice. By performing His work of redemption — living a sinless life, dying on the cross, and rising again — He secures our place before God. In this role, He continually intercedes for His people, signifying the ongoing relationship and access we have to the Father through Him.
