What does it mean that God is our refuge and strength?

When we say that God is our refuge and strength, we acknowledge that He is our source of safety and help during life’s adversities. The image of refuge suggests that in our moments of defeat or distress, we can withdraw into His presence and find comfort, protection, and solace. In contrast, claiming Him as our strength means that our victories and ability to endure come from Him alone.
