What does it mean to be set free in Christ?

Answered in 3 sources

Being set free in Christ means liberation from the bondage of the law and worldly practices, leading to true spiritual freedom.

To be set free in Christ is to no longer be subject to the legalistic regulations and traditions that once governed our relationship with God. Galatians 5:1 states that 'it is for freedom that Christ has set us free.' This freedom entails liberation from the requirements of the law and any man-made traditions that detract from the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. As believers, we are called to live in the liberty that comes from knowing that our salvation is complete in Him, allowing us to fully engage in worship and service without fear of condemnation or reliance on our works.
