What does it mean to remember God?

Answered in 1 source

To remember God is to acknowledge His sovereignty and live in accordance with His commandments.

Remembering God involves more than just recalling His existence; it is an active acknowledgment of His sovereignty, holiness, and commandments in our lives. According to Deuteronomy 4:9, we are encouraged to keep God's glorious acts present in our hearts and lives and to obey His commands. When we remember God, we submit to His authority and seek to honor Him in our decisions and actions. Forgetting Him, conversely, leads to moral decay and spiritual ignorance, making it imperative for individuals and nations alike to consistently recognize and uphold His lordship as central to their identity and actions.
