What does it mean to stand in awe of God?

In Psalm 4:4, David admonishes, 'Stand in awe and sin not.' To stand in awe of God is to have a deep reverence for His holiness and greatness. This awe should produce a response of worship and humility in our hearts. It’s an acknowledgment of our smallness in contrast with God’s infinite majesty. The Bible repeatedly calls us to exhibit this reverence, recognizing God’s power and grace towards us, which should motivate us to live righteously and align our lives with His will.
