What does the Bible say about contentment in trials?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that true contentment comes from looking to God and recognizing His sovereignty over all circumstances.

In Exodus 2:21, we see Moses, who had lost the riches and comforts of Pharaoh’s palace, choosing instead to dwell contentedly in Midian. This contentment is rooted not in his external circumstances but in his faith and understanding of God's sovereignty. The natural man seeks to grab and hold onto the world’s goods, but Moses' example shows that true contentment comes from faith in God, who orders every event according to His purpose. As believers, when we embrace this faith, we are reminded that our circumstances, however challenging, are held in God's hands, leading us toward spiritual riches that far surpass any earthly gain.
