What does the Bible say about departing in peace?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that believers can depart in peace when they have seen and embraced God's salvation through Christ.

In Luke 2:29-30, Simeon expresses his readiness to depart in peace because he has seen God's salvation. This concept reflects the assurance that believers have through Christ, who is our peace (Ephesians 2:14). To depart in peace means facing death without fear, resting in the security of God's promises and the finished work of Christ. Unlike those who face death without hope, believers can experience a calm assurance knowing that they are accepted by God through Christ's sacrifice.
