What does the Bible say about guidance from the Holy Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit directs believers, guiding them to Jesus as the way, truth, and life (Isaiah 30:21).

In Isaiah 30:21, we find a promise that the Holy Spirit will guide us, saying, 'This is the way, walk ye in it.' This divine guidance emphasizes that the Holy Ghost functions as our infallible Teacher, leading us to Jesus, who is the ultimate source of truth and righteousness. When individuals turn to the right or to the left, it is through the Spirit that they hear the direction to walk in the path that leads to salvation and sanctification.

The assurance of guidance comes from knowing that the Holy Spirit not only informs our minds with God’s truth but also influences our hearts to follow Jesus. Thus, every time we recognize this voice that prompts us toward Christ, we can trust that it reflects the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It reassures us that we do not stand alone in our spiritual journey, as the Spirit continually testifies of Jesus and glorifies Him.
