What does the Bible say about how we should pray?

The biblical model for prayer starts with worship and adoration. This is exemplified in the Lord's Prayer where it begins with 'Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.' Prayer is fundamentally about placing God above ourselves and expressing thankfulness for all that He has done. True prayer should reflect an understanding of God’s sovereignty, recognizing that everything that occurs in a believer's life is purposed by God for their good.
