What does the Bible say about inerrancy?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible asserts its own inerrancy by claiming to be the inspired Word of God, completely true in all it teaches.

The doctrine of inerrancy holds that the Scriptures, as originally given, are free from error in all that they affirm, which includes matters of theology, history, and ethics. This belief is rooted in the understanding of Scripture as verbally and plenarily inspired by God. As 2 Timothy 3:16 states, 'All Scripture is breathed out by God,' indicating not only divine inspiration but also complete reliability in content. Throughout the Bible, its own authority is affirmed, and the integrity of its teachings underscores God’s unchanging nature; hence, if Scripture is seen as fallible, it undermines the character of God Himself.
