What does the Bible say about Joseph's preparation during famine?

In Genesis 41, the account of Joseph preparing Egypt for the coming famine illustrates God's foresight and provision for His people. Joseph gathered grain during seven years of plenty to ensure there was food available when the famine struck. This act of preparation not only shows Joseph's wisdom and authority given by Pharaoh, but it serves as a type of Christ, who laid up grace and righteousness for His people in advance of the coming judgment.
