What does the Bible say about the altar in Hebrews 13?

In Hebrews 13:10, it is stated that 'we have an altar' which signifies that Jesus Christ is the ultimate and spiritual altar that fulfills the typological sacrifices of the Old Testament. The Old Testament altar was merely a shadow of the reality found in Christ. As our great high priest, Jesus sanctified His people with His own blood (Hebrews 13:12). This altar is not accessible to those outside of Christ, as it is the unique way that believers can approach God and make acceptable sacrifices through Him.
