What does the Bible say about the gifts of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible speaks of three vital gifts given by Christ: power, a people, and eternal life.

In John 17:1-2, we find that Jesus acknowledges the gifts bestowed upon Him by the Father. First, there is the gift of power over all flesh, which signifies His authority to save not just the Jews but Gentiles as well. This power underlines that salvation is not confined to a select group but is open to all people within His sovereign will. Second, there is the gift of a people, given to the Son from eternity past, ensuring that those who are called His sheep are those He has died for. Lastly, He grants eternal life to all those the Father has given to Him, linking their spiritual existence to the life that flows from Him alone.
