What does the Bible say about trials being for God's glory?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that trials are used by God to strengthen our faith and reveal His glory.

In John 11, we see that Lazarus' sickness was explicitly stated to be for the glory of God. Jesus tells His disciples that this sickness is not unto death but for God's glory, to demonstrate His sovereignty and power. Trials serve a dual purpose: they not only glorify God but also draw us closer to Him, strengthening our faith. When we encounter difficulties in life, they are not random misfortunes but divine appointments designed to reveal God's character and His purpose in our lives.
