What gives Christians confidence in eternal life?

Answered in 1 source

Our confidence in eternal life is based on the finished work of Christ.

In Christ, we have confidence that our eternity is secured as a result of His redemptive work on the cross. Isaiah 40:1 offers comfort, proclaiming that our 'warfare is accomplished,' indicating that Christ has fully met the requirements of justice for sin. This assurance is essential in dispelling fear of judgment and death, as believers are promised eternal life through faith in Christ. John 3:16 articulates this beautifully, stating that 'whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' Ultimately, our eternal security is anchored in Christ's righteousness, not our own.
