What is the significance of Jesus being both God and man?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus being both God and man is essential for Him to be the perfect mediator and representative for humanity in their salvation.

The dual nature of Christ, being fully God and fully man, is essential for salvation. As a man, He represents His people and fulfills the law on their behalf; as God, He possesses the inherent holiness and power necessary to save (2 Timothy 2:8). This unique relationship enables Him to bear the sins of His people and perform the sacrifice that truly satisfies God's justice. Without this union of natures, Christ could not adequately mediate between God and humanity, nor could He provide the righteousness needed for salvation.
