What role do good works play in a Christian's faith?

Answered in 1 source

Good works are a natural result of genuine faith but do not earn God's acceptance.

In the sovereign grace perspective, good works are the fruit of faith rather than the means of attaining it. Ephesians 2:8-9 emphasizes that we are saved by grace through faith and not by works, yet verse 10 continues to clarify that we are created for good works. This illustrates that while good works do not contribute to our salvation, they are essential as evidence of a living faith. Therefore, they glorify God and fulfill His purposes in the world but stem from a heart transformed by the grace of God.
