What role does Christ play in redemption?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the source and means of our redemption through His sacrificial death.

Christ's role in redemption is central as He paid the full and final ransom required by God for the salvation of the elect. The entirety of His sacrifice fulfills the demands of divine justice and achieves reconciliation for sinners. As proclaimed in Ephesians 1:7, in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses. Hence, understanding redemption through Christ reinforces the truth that it is entirely an accomplished act, independent of human merit or works.
