Why can't the natural man understand faith?

Answered in 1 source

The natural man cannot understand faith because, as scripture states, he is enmity against God.

The inability of the natural man to understand faith is rooted in the concept of spiritual blindness and enmity against God found in Romans 8:7, which states that the carnal mind is enmity against God. This signifies that a person apart from divine intervention cannot believe or accept God's truth. The natural heart does not possess the capacity to embrace spiritual realities, rendering the Gospel and the concept of faith as foolishness to those without God-given faith. Only through the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit can the veil of blindness be lifted, allowing an individual to receive salvation and understand the depth of faith.
