Why do Christians face trials and tribulations?

Answered in 4 sources

Christians face trials to grow in faith and reliance on Him, as He uses these circumstances to draw us closer to Himself.

The presence of trials in a believer's life is not a sign of God's absence but often serves a divine purpose. As illustrated in the sermon, the disciples faced a storm that tested their faith while Jesus interceded from afar. This reflects the biblical teaching in James 1:2-4, where trials are viewed as opportunities for growth and maturity in faith. God allows such challenges so that believers may experience His sustaining grace, learn to trust Him more fully, and ultimately understand that their reliance should not be on their abilities but on His sufficiency during the storms of life.
