Why do we need a Savior according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that all are deserving of God's wrath due to sin and therefore must seek a Savior who can provide true redemption.

We need a Savior because, as Romans 6:23 states, the wages of sin is death, meaning that our rebellion against God results in eternal separation from Him. It is our sinful nature that makes us unable to save ourselves. The need for a Savior is underscored by the realization that we are unworthy and unable to fulfill God's perfect law. Christ alone fulfills the requirements necessary for our salvation, providing both atonement for sin and righteousness before God without any conditions placed upon us. Thus, recognizing our helpless state propels us to seek the mercy found in Jesus.
