Why do we need to hear the gospel regularly?

Answered in 1 source

Regularly hearing the gospel is necessary for spiritual growth, reminding us of our need for Christ and reinforcing our faith.

Hearing the gospel regularly is essential in the life of a believer for several reasons. Firstly, it serves as a continual reminder of our need for Christ’s grace and forgiveness. Paul emphasizes in Romans 1:16 that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. The more we hear it, the more we are reminded of our identity in Christ and the great work He has accomplished for us. Secondly, hearing the gospel strengthens our faith, as faith comes by hearing, as mentioned in Romans 10:17. It is through the preached Word that we are nourished, equipped, and built up in our relationship with God. Furthermore, the gospel provides us with hope and assurance of God’s promises, encouraging us to pursue holiness while understanding that we depend wholly on Christ for our salvation.
