Why is believing on Christ necessary for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Believing on Christ is necessary because He is the only Savior who can deliver us from sin.

Believing on Christ is essential because He is the appointed Savior who has the power to save us from our sins. Romans 10:9 states, 'If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' This demonstrates that specific act of faith and trust in Christ's redemptive work is what justifies us before God. In Acts 16:31, the response to the jailer's crisis signifies that everyone, no matter their past, is called to rest their hopes completely on Christ for their salvation. It is through this belief and reliance that we are assured of eternal life.
