Why is Christ called the mediator for humans?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the only mediator between God and man, fulfilling the requirements of righteousness (1 Timothy 2:5).

In 1 Timothy 2:5, it is established that there is one Mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus. As the perfect High Priest, He intercedes on our behalf, providing the necessary atonement for our sins. In the context of Judges, it's highlighted that God's people must approach Him through a mediator to seek guidance and forgiveness. This is pivotal because, in our total depravity, we cannot stand before God based on our merits. Christ fulfills every requirement of God’s justice, enabling believers to be reconciled to the Father, thus emphasizing the significance of His role as our Mediator.
