Why is Christ central to the Christian faith?

The preeminence of Christ in the believer's life cannot be overstated; He is described in various ways throughout Scripture. He is our salvation, the means by which we are reconciled to God, and the basis for our righteousness. As affirmed in Colossians 2:10, 'you are complete in Him,' all sufficiency is found in Christ. Our entire Christian experience, from justification to sanctification and ultimately glorification, hinges on His work and person. Without Him, we have no hope and no true identity before God.
