Why is Christ important in the doctrine of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is central to salvation because He is the only mediator between God and man, providing the necessary sacrifice for our sins.

Christ is the cornerstone of salvation; without Him, there is no way for humanity to be reconciled to God. John 14:6 affirms that Jesus is 'the way, the truth, and the life,' and no one comes to the Father except through Him. His sacrificial death on the cross and subsequent resurrection are the fulfillment of God's redemptive plan. Through Christ’s atonement, the penalties of sin have been fully satisfied, allowing believers to receive grace and eternal life. Moreover, salvation is entirely dependent on faith in Christ and His righteousness, not our own efforts, as reiterated in Romans 10:9-10. In embracing Christ, we acknowledge Him as our Savior and Lord, who grants us assurance of salvation.
