Why is having a divided heart dangerous for believers?

Answered in 1 source

A divided heart leads to spiritual darkness and hampers a believer's relationship with God.

A divided heart, or an eye that is turned away from God, results in spiritual barrenness and darkness. In James 1:8, we read, 'A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.' When believers allow distractions from the world to interfere with their commitment to Christ, they risk losing the clarity and direction provided by God's light. This can lead to confusion, misplaced priorities, and ultimately, a weakened faith. As believers, it is vital to guard our hearts and set our focus on Christ alone, ensuring that our devotion remains steadfast in His light.
