Why is heart engagement necessary in worship?

Answered in 1 source

Heart engagement is necessary in worship because it aligns our intentions with God's desire for sincere and truthful adoration.

Worshiping God with our hearts is paramount because God seeks those who will worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Engaging the heart in worship ensures that our intentions are pure and that our actions reflect a deep relationship with Him. As Jesus indicated, external rituals devoid of heartfelt devotion are meaningless. God desires a personal connection characterized by authenticity—where one’s heart, mind, and soul are devoted to Him. Without heart engagement, even the most beautifully performed rituals become mere vanity, failing to achieve the deep spiritual communion that God desires with His people.
