Why is it dangerous to rely on our own wisdom for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Relying on our own wisdom can lead to spiritual failure, as our understanding is limited and often misguided (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Trusting in our own wisdom is fraught with danger because it contrasts with God's perfect knowledge and sovereign plan. Proverbs 3:5-6 exhorts us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding. When we rely on our own intellect or reasoning, we can easily miss the truth of the gospel and the necessity of grace. True salvation requires acknowledging our limitations and the supremacy of God's wisdom over our fallen understanding.
