Why is it important for Christians to testify about Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Testifying about Christ is crucial because it glorifies God and points others to the source of salvation.

Christians are called to be witnesses to the truth of the Gospel, as articulated in John 1. A faithful witness leads others to recognize the significance of Christ as the Savior who takes away sin. John the Baptist understood this imperative and consistently pointed to Jesus, stating, 'He must increase, but I must decrease' (John 3:30). Testifying about Christ fuels the church’s mission to share the good news, glorifying God through the proclamation of His sovereign grace and mercy. Ultimately, our greatest joy is to lead others to know Christ, as John did with his disciples, helping them transition from following him to following Jesus.
