Why is it important to appear before God with an offering?

Answered in 1 source

Appearances before God should not be empty-handed; we offer our faith and actions as evidence of our salvation.

In Exodus 34:20, the Lord commands that none shall appear before Him empty-handed. This highlights that when we come to the Lord, we should bring evidence of our faith through our actions and sacrifices. It’s not that we come with our works to earn favor, but true faith manifests itself in acts that glorify God. Our offerings are expressions of our dependence on Him and our acknowledgment of Christ's sacrifice, leading to a life dedicated to His service.
