Why is it important to consider motives in decision-making?

Answered in 1 source

Motives are crucial because they determine whether a decision can truly glorify God.

In evaluating any decision, it is essential to examine the motives behind it, as they can often reveal underlying sin such as selfishness or pride. A decision may appear good on the surface but can be rooted in sinful desires which render it unworthy of glorifying God. Therefore, true wisdom requires us to ask ourselves about the intentions driving our decisions and to ensure they align with God’s character and commands.
