Why is it important to obey the Church?

Answered in 1 source

Obeying the Church is vital because it reflects respect for her spiritual authority and care.

Obeying the Church is essential as she is regarded as our spiritual mother, endowed with the task of guiding and nurturing believers. Hebrews 13:17 instructs followers to obey their leaders and submit to them, as they keep watch over souls. Disobedience can lead to spiritual harm not only for the individual but also for the community, as the Church is called to correct and instruct her members in accordance with God's Word. Recognizing the Church's divine calling encourages believers to foster harmony and unity, which ultimately brings glory to God.
