Why is it wrong for Christians to grudge against each other?

Answered in 1 source

Grudging against one another can lead to condemnation, as it reflects a lack of love and unity in Christ.

The imperative in James 5:9 warns of the consequences of grudging against one another: 'Lest ye be condemned.' This condemnation does not refer to eternal damnation but to the spiritual and relational harm that arises from harboring resentment. When we hold grudges, we step into a mindset marked by pride and judgment, obstructing the grace that ought to characterize our interactions as believers. As members of the body of Christ, our relationship with one another reflects our relationship with God. Thus, to grudge against a fellow believer undermines the very essence of the gospel and our unity in Him.
