Why is knowing the truth about Christ important?

Answered in 1 source

Knowing the truth about Christ is essential for true faith and salvation, as it defines who we believe in.

Understanding the truth about Christ is the foundation of saving faith. It is not enough to have a vague notion of Jesus; we must know His true nature, mission, and sacrifice as outlined in Scripture. Ephesians 4:21 asserts that if we have heard and been taught according to the truth that is in Jesus, it is through that knowledge we come to trust and walk with Him. Without this truth, one risks trusting in a false Christ or a distorted version of the gospel, which cannot save. Therefore, knowledge of Christ as revealed in the Word of God transforms our hearts and minds, leading us to true faith.
