Why is recognizing the body of the Lord significant during Communion?

In 1 Corinthians 11:29, Paul instructs that anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on themselves. This recognition goes beyond the literal bread and cup; it encompasses understanding the church as the body of Christ. When believers come together for Communion, they affirm their unity and equality in Christ, acknowledging that they share the same spiritual nourishment and redemption. Hence, divisive attitudes or behaviors, such as pride or exclusion, contradict the very essence of what the Lord's Supper signifies.
