Why is thanksgiving important in Christian life?

Answered in 2 sources

Thanksgiving is essential in Christian life as it reflects our recognition of God's grace and mercy in all circumstances.

Thanksgiving is foundational in the Christian life, as expressed in both Psalm 100 and 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which instructs believers to 'give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.' This act of gratitude acknowledges God's sovereignty over our lives and the continual outpouring of His mercy and grace. Believers are called to serve the Lord with gladness and come before His presence with singing (Psalm 100:2). This reflects an understanding that our salvation and all that we possess are gifts from God, which cultivates a heart of thankfulness. Recognizing His goodness in our lives encourages a lifestyle that exalts His name and shares His praises with others.
