Why is the Christmas season important for Christians?

Answered in 3 sources

The Christmas season provides a crucial opportunity for Christians to declare the birth of Christ and share the gospel amid a world often blinded to the truth.

Christmas serves as a poignant reminder of Christ's incarnation, marking His entrance into a dark world to bring light and salvation. While some may criticize the celebration as rooted in pagan traditions, it is vital to understand that God orchestrates events to reveal His truth. During this time when many recall Christ's birth—albeit in often misunderstood ways—Christians have a unique opportunity to boldly proclaim the true message of the gospel. As observed in the sermon, it is during the winter season, symbolizing spiritual darkness, that Christians can illustrate the arrival of the One who overcomes that darkness with His light. Thus, the season becomes a significant moment for evangelism, allowing believers to declare unto the world the true identity of Jesus Christ, the savior of sinners, whom many worship ignorantly.
