Why is the concept of Christ being the firstborn significant?

Answered in 1 source

Christ being the firstborn is significant as He holds a unique position of authority and responsibility over God's household.

In Scripture, Christ is referred to as the firstborn in several contexts, such as Romans 8:29 and Colossians 1:15. This title signifies His preeminence and the inheritance that comes from being firstborn. According to Hebrews 3:1-6, just as the firstborn son in a family would be responsible for providing and protecting the household, Christ is our elder brother who is tasked with maintaining God’s house and bringing many sons to glory. His firstborn status not only signifies His authority but also assures us of our place as sons and heirs in God's family, fully sanctified in Him.
