Why is the incarnation of Christ essential to Christianity?

Answered in 1 source

The incarnation of Christ is essential because it enables Him to be the mediator and sacrifice needed for our redemption.

The incarnation signifies that God became man in the person of Jesus Christ to fulfill His plan of salvation. As emphasized in Galatians 4:4-5, Jesus was made of a woman and under the law, allowing Him to be a true representative of humanity. His human nature was necessary for Him to offer a genuine sacrifice for sin—His own body. Furthermore, only Jesus, being both fully God and fully man, could bridge the gap between sinful humanity and a holy God, making the incarnation a foundational truth of the Christian faith.
