Why is the latter rain significant for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The latter rain signifies a renewed outpouring of the Holy Spirit, essential for spiritual growth and vitality.

In the life of a believer, the latter rain represents a special visitation of grace, which Spurgeon describes as crucial for maturity in faith. Just as the agricultural process requires both the early and latter rains for a full harvest, so too does the Christian life require renewed grace and refreshing from the Holy Spirit to grow and bear fruit. This latter rain invigorates spiritual lives, infusing them with purpose and zeal as believers work toward the ultimate harvest—eternal life with God. It prepares Christians for greater service and deeper communion with the Father.
