Why is the power of God's Word important in evangelism?

Answered in 1 source

The power of God's Word is vital in evangelism because it is the means through which faith comes and souls are saved.

The power of God's Word cannot be underestimated in the context of evangelism. Paul emphasizes this in Romans 1:16, stating, 'For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.' The apostolic testimony exemplifies the necessity of reliance on Scripture, as the Holy Spirit uses the Word to convict hearts and illuminate the truth of the gospel. Our words and methods may lack efficacy, but God's Word is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). By preaching and teaching the truths of Scripture, we allow the transformative power of God to work in the lives of those who hear it, enabling them to respond in faith and repentance.
