Why should we not fear approaching God?

Answered in 1 source

Believers can approach God boldly because of the grace afforded by Christ (Hebrews 4:16).

Christians can come before God with confidence due to the grace illustrated in Hebrews 4:16, which invites believers to approach the throne of grace boldly. This invitation is based on the finished work of Jesus, who has reconciled humanity to God through His sacrifice. Unlike Mount Sinai, which symbolized fear and separation, believers are welcomed to Mount Zion, a place of comfort and assurance. The thundering and lightning around God's throne are reminders of His power, but they do not inspire fear in His people. Instead, these symbols of divine authority reinforce our understanding of God's protective power, allowing us to approach Him with awe, respect, and trust.
