What does the Bible say about being Christ-centered?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible emphasizes the importance of being centered on Christ as the foundation of faith and life.

Being Christ-centered means putting Jesus at the center of our lives and recognizing Him as the source of our purpose. Scriptures such as Colossians 3:1-4 encourage believers to set their minds on things above, where Christ is. This highlights how our identity and actions should be rooted in Him, thereby impacting how we interact with the world around us. When a congregation is characterized as Christ-centered, it fosters an environment where His teachings and example are prioritized over mere religious practices.

Moreover, our spiritual lives thrive when we focus on Him because Christ is the embodiment of grace and truth. In John 14:6, Jesus declares Himself to be the way, the truth, and the life, which means that for Christians, all aspects of life must revolve around Him. As seen in the testimony of the Korean doctor in the sermon, congregations that faithfully represent Christ's love and truth can stand out in a world filled with religious traditions that may miss this core focus. Our journey in faith is to continually align ourselves with Christ’s teachings and share His gospel in every aspect of life.
