What does the Bible say about being made clean from sin?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that no one can make themselves clean from sin; it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be made clean.

In Job 14:4, the question is posed, 'Who can make the clean out of the unclean?' and the answer is clear: nobody. This acknowledges the total depravity of humanity and our inability to cleanse ourselves from sin. Throughout Scripture, it is emphasized that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). It is only through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, who was made sin for us, that we can be made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). Therefore, our only hope lies in Christ, the one through whom all things are possible.
