What does the Bible say about the better things God has provided?

In Hebrews 11:40, it is stated that God has provided something better for us. This better thing refers to the fulfillment of the promises made through the Old Testament figures, who merely pointed to Christ. Unlike them, we have the person of Christ himself, who embodies the hope, testament, and covenant that were only shadows before his coming. Everything that the Old Testament saints experienced pointed towards the ultimate reality found in Jesus, making our hope and faith far greater than that of those who came before.
