Why is Christ's role as mediator important for Christians?

Answered in 9 sources

Christ's role as mediator is vital because He is our advocate before God, ensuring our sins are atoned for and enabling our relationship with the Father.

The significance of Christ as our mediator cannot be overstated. In Job's lament, he acknowledges his inability to argue or present his case before God. This highlights the human condition: we cannot stand before a holy God without a mediator. Christ fulfills this unique role by having fully satisfied divine justice through His death and resurrection. As stated in Romans 8:34, He is at the right hand of God, interceding for us. This means that, despite our imperfections, we can approach God with confidence, knowing that Christ's blood covers our sins, and His righteousness secures our acceptance before the Father.
