How do we know prayer is effective?

Answered in 11 sources

Prayer is effective because it is grounded in faith and leads to divine communication with God, who is always responsive to the cries of His children.

Prayer is effective not because of the words we use, but because of the faith we have in the One we pray to. Hebrews 4:16 encourages believers to approach the throne of grace boldly, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in times of need. Effectiveness in prayer comes from aligning our requests with God's will and trusting His wisdom. Since prayer originates from faith, it reflects our understanding of God’s character and His promises, ensuring that our supplications are made with the anticipation of His response and action according to His perfect plan.
